This three-day implementation-focused course prepares technical professionals for their first ServiceNow customer deployment. Learners apply the Now Create methodology to design, configure, and deliver a ServiceNow platform implementation, working from real-world requirements and a simulated backlog to build scalable, supportable, and upgradeable solutions using Zurich release capabilities.

Learning Objectives

Module 1: Overview of Now Create

  • Objectives: Associate customer needs to ServiceNow product offerings; identify Now Create phases; discover success packs and assets; describe a typical project flow.
  • Labs: Lab 1.5.1 Explore the Now Create Portal.

Module 2: Initiate

  • Objectives: Explain the Initiate phase; define roles and responsibilities; review current architecture; identify the implementation team; prepare for the project kick-off.
  • Activities and Labs: Group Activity Identify and Set Up the Implementation Teams; Activity Kick-Off Meeting Discussion; Lab 2.5.1 Create an Implementation Dashboard with Story Data Visualizations.

Module 3: Plan

  • Objectives: Plan and track work using Agile boards; perform instance configuration tasks; integrate with a directory server; apply architectural and technical governance; describe CSDM; import structured data using transform maps.
  • Activities and Labs: Lab 3.2.1 Agile Planning and Tracking; Activity Class Discussion Requirement Workshop; Lab 3.4.1 Security Admin Group Setup; Lab 3.5.1 Configure LDAP Authentication and Data Population; choose one: Lab 3.7.1 Configure CMDB and Load Data or Lab 3.7.2 Import Foundation Data.

Module 4: Execute

  • Objectives: Identify platform and application building blocks; design for quality attributes; use development tools; explain deployment models for scoped versus global applications; apply agile sprint practices; complete a mini-implementation.
  • Activities and Labs: Lab 4.2.1 Activity Sprint Planning; Lab 4.4.1 Build HHD Application; Lab 4.6.1 Activity Mini-Implementation.

Module 5: Deliver

  • Objectives: Identify deployment methods; perform testing and UAT; explain change enablement and training considerations; complete go-live activities.
  • Activities and Labs: Lab 5.6.1 Activity Go-Live.

Module 6: Close

  • Objectives: Report on project benefits; plan for platform currency; ensure user awareness and training; execute project close-down.
